Mr. Gyan Mohan is a career banker with exposure in all facets of Banking and Finance including investment and international banking. He has over 40 years of experience in Banking-Finance including Top Management posts in SBI, IDBI Cap, Power Exchange, FSIL, etc. In his thirty years of experience working with SBI, he has been exposed to all facets of banking viz. Retail, Corporate, Investment Banking, and International Banking. His associations with poverty alleviation started with his assignment as Officer-in-Charge of IRDP (Integrated Rural Development Programme) for SBI where he was closely associated with the first significant initiative towards poverty alleviation in India. He was involved in policy-making for poverty alleviation and implementation thereof. Mr. Mohan has worked in investment banking with SBI Capital Markets as SVP & GH (Mergers & Acquisitions & Advisory) and has advised on many privatizations, mergers, and advisory assignments. In the International Banking domain, he has worked as VP (Forex and Money Market Control) at SBI, Frankfurt. Mr. Mohan serves as Director on Governing Board of MFIN. He is the chairman of Task Force on Small and Medium MFIs at Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN) and is an active member of a task force on Credit Bureau and a state initiative task force. He thus participates in key policy-making and advocacy in the MFI Sector.
